No sé como configurar la conexión inalámbrica 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0  
Tengo un portátil SAMSUNG X30. Y no sé como configurar la conexion inalámbrica. Para ello uso un adaptador USB de Ovislink de 54MBps.

Hola, Miguel:

Primero necesitamos saber que tipo de conexion wifi tienes, refiriendome al cifrado, es abierto? wpa? wap?

Además, y con el fin de saber si el adaptador USB es compatible con Linux, puedes poner el modelo exacto? (incluso compraremos uno para probar).

El adaptador USB que uso es el siguiente: Ovislink wl-5430usb.

El cifrado es en wep ASCII.

Podrías hacer lo siguiente?

Arranca el ordenador, una vez en marcha pincha el adaptador USB Wifi

Abre un terminal (accesorios->terminal)

Ejecuta lo siguiente (Las mayúsculas y minúsculas son importantes):

dmesg > Desktop/diagnostico.txt ; lsusb -v >> Desktop/diagnostico.txt

Con eso guardarás en el escritorio un documento llamado diagnostico.txt que incluye los ultimos mensajes del sistema y la información sobre dispositivos USB.

Luego abres el fichero (doble click), seleccionas todo y lo pegas aqui.

Si vas al menú administración -> red te aparece el adaptador inalambrico? o solo el que ahora ponen como "alambrico"?

En la salida de dmesg aparece eth1 como dispositivo con la radio apagada, y eso debe ser un adaptador wifi, o el USB está siendo reconocido, o tu portatil ya tiene un adaptador interno.

Me puedes poner el modelo del portatil? Si es un centrino debería tener integrado el soporte wifi.
